I remember not long after he died, I actually saw a card that had a little winged Jerry Garcia on the front. It said "It's your birthday and you're alive." Inside it said "Be grateful." I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry.
I think that, given the choice, he'd probably prefer to still be here entertaining all of us.
