Great, another cop that took the easy way out...just what we all need.
Now go preach to the little kids on drug day about staying in school.
Does that answer your question?

If law enforcement is really what you want to go into it is best you stick with it and suck it up, so to speak. It is true alot of places don't require a degree only that you have been to an academy or will go to an acedemy after being hired on but it is hard to get hired if don't know someone. Law enforcement is alot of times very political and if you don't know people you most likely won't get the job but if you can finish your degree you will have a better chance and and even better chance in fact almost a guarentee that you will get hired if you attend an academy but of course you will have to pay for that too and you may have to travel some distance to get there but it will be well worth it because you will get better advancements and the position in law enforcement you want over someone without education who only works there because they knew someone. Also it is hard to go back to school to further your education after you have started your career, it may be twice as hard. If you have a degree you always have the upperhand. Good Luck ! You can do it. Keep your chin up.

I would not suggest dropping out. I personally have not been to college but the environment I'm in is similar and even though things get difficult some time I know I can't allow myself to quit because if I get through the pain now I'll have a better future.
Even though you don't need a degree right now, who's to say your police job will hold up. At some point you may need something to fall back on and a degree will definitely help you out there. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

Hey, it is not about taking other people's suggestions. It is about your own personal state of well being.
If you feel good being an ordinary cop making an ordinary cop wage, or just for the thrill of being a cop, I say shoot it and drop out of college and be a cop.
There will be more training (i assume)
If you stay in college and realize you wasted 4 years for nothing, you couldve got your dream job WITHOUT the college degree, then drop out.
If you are happy, or your intuition feels right, go for whatever you like

It depends how long you've been at college. Regardless, credentials will get you very far, and one tends to grow in many different ways during one's time at college. If you're a junior or senior at college, I would definitely stay until graduation. Otherwise, I would consider how much a good education would come in handy later on in life. Just because learning is hard doesn't mean it isn't for you. You will be facing many life and death situations in the field of law enforcement, and your college education might help you make the right decisions when the proper time comes. Good luck with your decision.

No, because when you get into that Field you may find that it was not what you wanted or you could be injured on the job and I believe we all should have a back up career. Always have a back up career and a education to go with is wise. That is one thing no one can ever take away from you and it will make you wiser. The more educated that you are the better police officer you can be. A lot of them have no education and they go on the take because the money is not so get and what good does that do our society? You will be there to protect and serve and if money gets tight you can always fall back on you education and not be paid extra to promote drugs being sold or other illegal activities. I have seen police on the take and they protect crack houses and all sorts of things. I had one to tell me they had rights to and then I ask why did they have a right to destroy lives and he walked off. So be aware of dirty police and watch your back because they could cost you you own life. Think of what you really want, and you may move further into the department. Good Luck and God bless you.

Continue with school. Many law enforcement agencies have a pay scale that takes education into consideration. Do you just want to be a patrolman, or would you rather be detective or something more some day?
to add to this...my boyfriend is a police officer...an mp in the national guard (formerly active duty army)...he's currently finishing up his bachelors in criminal justice and applying to law school...but, we are considering relocating and many of the larger police departments pay higher for each degree and give more consideration to those with degrees. Just something to keep in mind.

I'd say get the degree, that way you have something to fall back on whether you become a cop or not. Most employers these days just want to see that you've completed a degree of some sort.

Depends..
All your efforts you put in since you were little would probably go to waste, but it's not much of a loss if you did something with it.
Just do what you think :)
Honestly speaking, I would stay in. But i'm not in college yet, that too, I'm not going to get a degree in law enforcement.

it is not needed to be a cop but it sure helps. you will make much more money with a degree rather than not. maybe not in the beginning but you will be passed over for someone w/ a degree everytime. going to college isn't suppose to be easy. if it was everyone could go and then it wouldn't be as valuable
