The nut that holds the driver side blade was loose and the blade would wipe past the window into the air. I moved the blade so that it was as far down when the wipers were off and then tightened the nut. The blades still do not rotate at the same rate. They hit one another and end up in the wrong order. Any suggestions?

Either try loosening both and letting the motor find the rest position again for both, then retighten. If that doesn't work, your wiper arms have been bent and will have to be replaced with another alignment when installing the new ones. Good luck.

You put them on wrong.Get them both to the top center of the windshield and reattach them where they should be.Or maybe you got a wiper that is too long?
