I'll take Martin (and obviously, so will the Dodgers). He has some pop, speed, handles pitchers well despite not having LoDuca's experience, and also hits for a good average. He hasn't even scratched his potential and will be better than LoDuca starting this year. Not knocking LoDuca either, I like the guy. But you gotta take into account, when you hear ANY pitcher say they wouldn't sign with the Mets because LoDuca is the catcher, that is a sign that something isn't quite right. And I didn't see a ton of people jumping to his defense. Makes one wonder.......

Martin,
He can grab the wildest that the Dodgers can muster. Nothing gets by him and they had some pretty errant pitchers last year. Can't blame him for not being able to gun them down at second, when the mound can't hold them to the base.
Probably loses on the offense, but he whacked it out of center field a couple times last year.

LoDuca is past his prime, whereas Martin is just coming into his own. This season, "La Vida" Loduca may have a better batting average than Martin, but that's about it. Russel "Ricky" Martin has more power and speed.

All right, so Russell Martin is young and Paul LoDuca is past his prime. But LoDuca is an awesome contact hitter. And how about that .318 average of his, last season? Bottom line, Paul LoDuca is better.

Martin is a four tool cather which is ultra rare. He gives you a little bit of everything and he's good at it.

First of all its Russell, not Rassell.
Lo Duca is better.
