"Blowing smoke" came from the idea that magicians originally used smoke to try and make it difficult for people to see how they did a trick. "Up someone's a***" means you are too close to them.
So the total expression probably means that you are "BS-ing me and you should back off"

MAN they must have had fun in the 16th century. You've gotta admire them for coming up with something you'd have to be very dead not to react to, that's fantastic.
