what did the spartan men include in their letters home from a war? wat did they say to their wives? such as "ill be home soon"..or "i might not reach home"...if you write an example letter it would be great since i learn more from examples rather than people telling me

Well one sample letter would be something like:

Helen,
You have brought disgrace on the nation of Sparta by allowing Paris to seduce you and empty my treasury. Therefore I have determined to pursue you and the faithless Paris to Troy and there slay you both.
Tell Priam that all of the men of Greece demand retribution and that Agamemnon and I have assembled a massive force with which to wipe Troy off the map.

Yours,
Menelaus.

Of course Menelaus wouldn't have had to send the letter to his wife too far, since she was in Troy for the duration of the Trojan War.

More realistically, the majority of the Greek soldiers were illiterate, and even fewer of their wives would have been able to read, so very few letters of the type you are asking about would have been sent.

First off, I'm not certain the Greeks did send letters home from war, especially the Trojan War. Spartans, in particular, did not go in for anything mushy or sentimental; at most, they might have inquired how their sons were progressing in training. Spartan women understood, and expected, that their men would come home victorious or not at all; there would have been no point in mentioning it in a letter.

What makes you think the women of sparta could read? Or the men of sparta write, for that matter.
