I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring 2.4L and well, it's just not fast enough. I just can't seam to find a single performance part for this car or a turbo kit. How hard is it to Turbocharge this car? I know it's possible because I've seen articles on people who have turbocharged non-turbo cars before. I was thinking if I get the head milled a couple 10ths of an inch I can bump my compression a little bit but I don't want to throw a rod or melt a piston. Valve clearance isn't a problem for me. I just don't want to blow a hole in the side of the block. NOS is cheap and easy but can produce problems too. Especially without the right tuning and timing. Maybe port and polish the head and open up the intake and exhaust inlets and outlets some will produce a little bit ah HP. Ultimately I'd like to push 300HP out of this engine. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that is the same basic engine as the one used in the PT Cruiser Turbo and the SRT-4. (Note: The coupe that year may have used a different engine, as it was based on the Eclipse.) If so, you should be able to adapt the parts from either of the two turbo versions of the motor I mentioned, or the Mexican Stratus R/T. Or better yet, swap in the whole engine. It will be a lot of work, so I would not recommend a project like that if this car is your only means of transportation.

Your engine is a 4 cylinder. I can not find any parts that would be able to turbocharge your engine. I did find parts however to turbocharge the 2.7L and the 3.0L V6 engines. These were common in the LXi models. In either case I would not recommend raising your compression if you intend to make boost.

Even if you could turbocharge this car the list of parts is extensive and I would not expect to make 300 hp from this engine. The V6 engine is stronger and will get you close to the 300 hp mark by adding a bolt on turbo with little engine modifications.

either way if you turbo it your still going to have to make internal engine modifications. did you try contacting mopar performance. or contact a hot rod shop and talk with them about can be done. hell you could convert the car to rear wheel then put a Chevy motor in it then you would have reel power. good luck

Not worth it Raising the compression bad idea. 300HP that's asking alot.
