Check with your local court house & see if they require blood test in your state to get married, if so they can tell you how to find out, also call your regular doctor he may be able to get you tested. They used to test people to see if they were related before they could get married, some states still do. I'm sure you can get it done locally just check around. As long as she is willing it shouldn't be to hard to get it done.

Unless your girlfriend is the daughter of one of your uncles ot aunts there is no problem marrying. (thats first cousin)

Of course you cant marry a sister or half sister.

The only way is a DNA test .

Legally I think they go by birth certificate. So you could probably marry your half sister if your fathers name is not on the birth certificate .

here is a website that might help.

http://www.dnatca.com/siblingship-dna-testing.php
call them at 1-877-714-6360. for more info.

The sibling test says $150 so its not cheap .

A simple blood test might tell you if you are NOT related. There are a set of blood types that can occur in the children of two parents. Your birth certificates may list the blood types .

Why are you so worried about this? Do you have some inside information that she might be a 2nd cousin or something? Yes there are DNA tests and they take weeks to months to get back(crimes do get first billing) and are pretty expensive. Maybe you should compare family trees. That might get you further faster.
