Placental mammals do, but most "wild" animals clean themselves very thoroughly so it is hardly noticeable even if they are held in captivity. Some do this by licking the area clean and some can actually somewhat shut the opening and hold in the blood until they eliminate other wastes, at which time they let the blood flow and bury or scratch it into the dirt. Some domesticated animals (dogs, for instance) have let this fastidiousness go, and their periods are more evident.
Unlike humans, who are fertile all year long, many animals only have one or two cycles per year (so that young are always born in the spring, for instance).
Also, animals that are born relatively immature (like mice) have lower nutritional needs in the womb, so the uterine lining is thinner. This means that if the female is not impregnated, the shed from the lining is less (proportionally compared to a human).
Animals pretty much do their best to get pregnant every cycle. Obviously, there is no period if the animal is pregnant. Most mammals that are kept as pets are either pregnant every cycle or neutered. And while a human who doesn't want (more) children has her tubes tied, a cat (for instance) gets a full hysterectomy when it is spayed, eliminating the reproductive cycle completely instead of just interrupting the supply line.
In a nutshell, yes, but...
1) they keep it clean
2) most animals are far less frequent than humans
3) most small animals have less volume of blood (proportionally) than humans
4) many animals with which we come in contact have been surgically altered and no longer have the equipment for periods.

The learn of animal sexuality (and primate sexuality extraordinarily) is a quickly arising field. It was once believed that for the time of basic terms people and a handful of species finished sexual acts different than for procreation, and that animals' sexuality replaced into instinctive and an undemanding reaction to the "appropriate" stimulation (sight, heady scent). cutting-edge understanding is that many species that have been before believed monogamous have now been shown to be promiscuous or opportunistic in nature; a great array of species seem the two to masturbate and to apply gadgets as information on the thank you to assist them gain this; in many species animals attempt to grant and get sexual stimulation with others the place procreation isn't the objective; and gay habit has now been stated between a million,500 species and in 500 of those it particularly is definitely documented. Ferrets are brutal and that they rape the girls and harm them while they chew them around the neck and face and drag them approximately.

All animals go through a "heat" cycle when they are receptive and fertile, but most animals do not have a "period" where they bleed.

Its referred to as "in heat".
During that time, most mammals release pheremones
that signal the male of the species that they are
ready to mate.
