Well, you're in luck, because I used to be a body piercer, so I can tell you from lots of experience that everyone is different in how much pain they'll experience. It hurts just while the needle goes through, which is a few seconds.

Don't get too "worked up" before or during the procedure as this will make it more likely that you'll faint, since you'll probably not be breathing properly.

Eat a while before hand so that you're not on an empty stomach, bring some orange juice in case you do feel faint, but usually the people who faint, are people who faint fairly often. I've never fainted in my life, so I highly doubt that any piercing would make me faint. If you faint at the sight of blood or when you get really overwhelmed, then maybe that's something you should consider, but otherwise, I wouldn't worry about that.

I don't know any doctors who will do it, or even condone having it done at all. You can buy numbing cream at a pharmacy that you can put on the area 1 hour or so before the procedure. You can also ice it right before, if you're still scared. The place you get it done may provide these things for you, but not likely, and they'll probably think you're a wuss if you ask. Sorry, but it's true.

I've had my bellybutton pierced 3 times, and both of my nipples done, and I can tell you it's not nearly as bad as you'd think. I'd be more leary of the aftercare and healing than the 2 seconds of pain during the procedure. Just be brave and be sure that you are going to a clean shop, and you'll be fine sweetie. Good Luck

Doctors will usually say not to do this, as it is purely cosmetic and runs the risk of infection unnecessarily. A pro piercer will have to do it. Beyond that, you will have to have a parent present to sign a release as you are underage, regardless of how much permission you may have.

Topical anesthesia is avaliable at most places if you ask beforehand. Don't over play the situation in your mind, and remember to breathe when the piercing happens. Taking 2 tylenol or motrin 30 minutes prior is also helpful.

The pain of the piercing is nothing compared to the trauma and pain of an infection. More important than whether it will hurt or the guy is cute is that you make absolutely certain you have seen liscences and permits for the business and the piercer you will be working with. Look at how the equipment is cleaned and sanitized, and check the jewlery before hand for 3 things:
Is it in a separate bag?
Do you have a reaction to the type of metal is it made of?
Is it definitely a belly ring?

All of these are important, and will have a long-term impact that the moment of contact will not have.

Good luck, and safe piercings!

I am EXTREMELY pain sensitive and I thought that it was going to hurt so bad.. but it didn't! In fact, it really didn't hurt, it just felt a little weird. If you've had your cartilage pierced, then getting your bellybutton pierced will be nothing. Even for those that think that it hurt when they got it done, it only lasts for a quick second! As far as I know, doctor's don't offer that service, but don't worry you can trust a professional piercer. Just make sure that you do research on the parlor or ask your friends where they got it done. As long as they are professional, clean the tools in front of you, and tell you safety and care information, you should be fine. Although I didn't think it hurt at all, I do know that some places offer or have numbing available, so it might be a good idea to see if they offer that if you're THAT scared of the pain-- even though I promise, it doesn't hurt much, if at all--and only for a split second. I wish someone told me before I went that it wouldn't hurt, because I wasted SO much time being scared and nervous over nothing! Good luck sweetie, and make sure you take care of it! =)

**I suggest using Betadine to clean it. It doesn't sting at all, is great for the healing process and it's the antiseptic that hospitals use. You can find it at drug stores.

It will hurt a little bit. You cant go to the doctor but some places will numb it for you. ask around and find out which tattoo shop has a good piercer. They get infected easily so be carful with that.

You have to get it done by a profesional otherwise you risk infection or someone pierceing you wrong. Usually this is done at a tattoo shop. I've had mine done and it doesn't hurt anymore than getting your ears pierced. The one downside is it take a really long time to heal and is prone to infection. You must take a lot of time to make sure it is kept clean.. I would recommend using peroxide, that's what I used. Also, I believe you have to get permission by a parent or guardian before doing so.

They tell u to take a deep breath & before you know it is already pierced. To me the part that hurted the most is when you have to move it. The pierceing is tight then it loosens up then u can sleep and play with it better , Good luck!1
