Take your vitamins, gain weight slowly and steadily rather than like 15 pounds in a week, eat fruits and vegetables that are red or yellow (I read these have nutrients that help skin repair), drink plenty of water, and keep your skin lotioned up with a cream that has vitamin e, collagen, and elastin. I've done all of this and I still have some stretch marks, but they're not as bad as they could be. It's mostly genetic. If you already have stretch marks, there are creams at the store. that are fairly inexpensive, and you could also try laser therapy (which is expensive). The stretch marks will fade to flesh colored eventually anyway. Good luck!

You cannot prevent stretchmarks with any type of lotion or creme. Sorry, that is NOT POSSIBLE
What lotions and cremes do is help maintain the elastisity of skin and help prevent itching therefore helping to decrease the healing time if you do get stretch marks. If you don't get any while pregnant using lotion, its not because of the lotion. You most likely would not get them anyway.
Two factors involved with stretch marks is genetics and how fast you gain weight during pregnancy.
Stretch marks tend to fade with time, but will always be there. There are no miracle cures.
There is plenty of research involved in this and it is a scientifically proven fact.

whether or not you get stretch marks depends on how rapidly you gain weight during your pregnancy. If you have a slow steady weight gain, you shouldn't have any. If you have a sudden jump in weight, you will probably have them.

A stretch mark is actually the result of the INNER layers of your skin tearing because they can't stretch fast enough. Because of this, applying coco butter or vitamin E oil to the outer layers of your skin is hardly effective at preventing stretch marks. Most women who used lotions and didn't get stretch marks most likely wouldn't have had them anyway!

Just try not to binge. Eat a healthy, balanced diet and (if you want to) go ahead and try some lotions and oils.

Unfortunately, you can not avoid stretch marks. You can minimize the risk by spreading vitamin e cream or cocoa butter on your belly. Once they are there the only way to have them removed is to get lazer surgery. I have plenty from my two kids and I look at them as a hard earned badge. I guess that's because there isn't much else I can do.

I am not to sure about the effects, but there was a lotion with coco butter that was to help with stretch marks, but i dont recall if it was suppost to be applied during pregnancy to avoid stretch marks or after to minimize stretch marks. We had found the lotion at a pregnancy clothing store,,,, but i'm sure you could check the internet.

I just had my son he is 4 months and I used Palmer's stretch mark lotion, the key is you have to use it consistently. Try it consistently twice a day for about 2 weeks and see what happens.

The thing is nothing really prevents them. Some say coco butter helps to prevent. Others I talk to says, sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't. They lighten over time, and pretty much go away.
