It shouldn't be any more dangerous to you than a hot water bottle or a thermos in your lap. If it worries you, put a blanket under it, upgrade your laptop fan, or buy the special cooling pads made for laptops. This will keep your lap cooler and by cooling the laptop internally, will help it run faster and smoother, and have a longer life.

Your question has really made stop and think...
I've got what looks like two dodgeballs between my legs, but I thought that was just because I was more manly than everyone else. I'll have to call somebody about this.
I do like the way it gives my laptop a more ergonometric angle up on the backside when I'm using it on my lap, though...

Actually the heat isn't bad for women, it's more of a problem for men and their testicles. Repeated heat exposure causes fertility problems (impairs sperm count, movement and formation) for men. Also, because a woman has her ovaries inside her body (which is already warm to begin with) an external source of heat (like from a laptop) is not likely to cause damage.

won't possibly hurt you at all but is very bad for the computer. laptops vent out the bottom and will eventually cause pc failure due to overheating. sitting it in the lap blocks the vents. Go on e-bay and look at chill pads .
they are thin very lightweight usb powered things you set the laptop on to block the heat from you and help cool the pc cresting a longer life for it.

I understand your concern, as a computer technician I spend a lot of time working with laptops but I haven't heard of anyone ever having trouble conceiving or having any other ovarian or uterus related trouble. If you're still concerned try a specialized fan that sits under your laptop while you work that diffuses the heat.
