when blacks or hispanics begin moving into a neighborhood, WHITE homebuyers "perceive" that the neighborhood is in decline and choose not to move there. Residents fearing that property valves go down start away. Once residents leave, the consequent decline in prices fall. Blacks and hispanics are not large enough to sustain the market demand. As the market changes, poor people start to move in. WHITE residents take their wealth with them. when a community's wealth disappears, resources become UNDERFUNDED. As communities get poorer, police protection begins to decline meaning HIGH POVERTY AND CRIME RATES. Then companies start dumping hazardous things in the communities because of low safety measures.

So, it is not minorities that make property valves drop, it is WHITE FLIGHT!

And why do you think they percieve this? Did they just make that up in their heads? Or have people seen things decline over and over again once minorities move in?

White residents take their wealth with them? Don't minorities have wealth or are they all poor?

There wouldn't be high crime rates if the people living there didn't commit crimes.

First of all please do a spell check in the future so your points will have more credibility and not reinforce stereotypes of poor grammar. Second with all due respect property VALUES do not go down solely because of white flight. They largely go down because middle class blacks lose control over their environment by letting poorer, less civilized blacks take over (same can be said for hispanics). yes, you are correct that some redlining does occur but BLACKS WITH RESOURCES (businesspeople, athletes, entertainers) need to be more pressured by PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF into investing in the communities that they publicly claim to be so proud of.

Interesting perspective, on property VALUES. You do know of course that is why zoning was created, as a anti-poor but especially as a racial controlling tool? I think zoning was first implemented in NYC in 1915, which is why ever since people have been moving further and further out into the country and using zoning to force out the poor natives and farmers as they turn small towns into high dollar home communities. Too many people are drawing lines between peoples these days, we used to all be "Americans" and now we are This-Americans and That-Americans, etc. The government tells us to be more "blind" to people's race, and then treats people differently depending on how big a voting bloc their ethnic/geographic/demographic/nationality group represents. And if it makes you feel better, it's mostly white politicians who have spent this country into a hole and sold us out to China and Middle East countries, all of whom have stated publically they wish to destroy our country. Being a skeptic, I don't see that as a wise move. You just have to make the best of it, keep your head down when the **** flies, and enjoy teh good times when you can.

It's not our fault that your ancestors didn't study hard in school, get into college, and create a wealth for your families. It is a proven statistic that black families, on average, have lower incomes than white families. Over the years, black people have grown to rely more and more on crime to solve their problems, as would anyone with a low income.

you cant blame someone for moving or after they've left the community, I'm tired of key figures in minorities playing the victim and blaming their problems on other instead of facing their own demons and doing something other than complaining.. to use the term whites is stereotyping which is racist,. do unto others......
