Your BEST answer will come from your local Labor Board. There are different laws that protect workers from being worked Full Time hours and only being listed as Part Time employees. Some States require some companies to change an employees status when the employee works more than Part time hours for a certain number of weeks out of the year.
If you are unsure of how to contact the Labor Board, look for the EEOC poster that is required by Federal Law to be posted in your workplace. You may also call the local unemployment agency in your area to ask them how to contact the Labor board in your area.
Do keep in mind that if you have not worked the minimum when you push this issue, the worst that could happen is your hours may be cut back to 32 hours a week or what ever is required by law to consider you part time.
Laws of other countries may be entirely different if you are outside the United States. Just research your answers and then decide if this is worth investing your time, or if you would better benefit finding a more suitable employer.
Good Luck and hope this helps!

It is OK unless there is some type of employee contract that determines what is part time. Your state may have laws about overtime that would come into the mix also. The normal reason for doing this is to avoid benefits.

Part-time is only half of fulltime ... and thus you don't get the benefits. But working the same hours PLUS more isn't all-right unless you signed a contract. Think about it ...

TWO WEEKS......before you get a day off.........They should be paying you at least time and a half the most double time......I'm guessing your doing this to get on permanent.......But watch out, their going to use you and toss you out to the wolves.........

You are being screwed. They want you to work full time hours and not give you full time benefits.

I think you have to answer this question by yourself. Everyone is different. This also depends on your job nature.
