I'm an ob/gyn and can reassure you COMPLETELY.
First of all, one dose of anything at all usually won't cause a problem because it's such a limited amount.
But secondly, the good news is Advil (or ibuprofen) is not a problem at all in the first trimester. In fact, in special circumstances, ob/gyns use it in the first half of pregnancy. BUT you absolutely should not take it in the third trimester because that's when it can cause problems, like decreasing your amniotic fluid, bleeding in the baby's brain, and closing off an important blood vessel near the heart.
So put the Advil completely out of your mind and enjoy your pregnancy....congrats in advance!

I have no idea what Advil is but i'm sure everything will be just fine for you & your baby. Most mums do things they shouldn't before they find out they are pregnant & most mums have completely normal & healthy little bubs. Make your appointment for April & ask the doctor then.

While drugs CAN cause problems, doctors usually advise you not to worry about medicine you took (or alcohol you drank) before you knew you were pregnant. Chances are a few doses of no-no medicine early in pregnancy will have no effect. Don't run out to the ER. Wait till your doctor's appointment. I took Ibuprofen and got drunk before I knew I was pregnant, and doc said I was fine as long as I didn't do those things anymore. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much due to the fact that a lot of people drink, take prescription drugs, otc medicines, etc all the time when they don't know they are pregnant and their babies almost always turn out fine. If there is a problem, more than likely it probably wouldn't be from the Advil...don't stress yourself out

Everyone takes something, does something or drinks something before they know they are pregnant that "could " hurt the baby. I don't think that this early on just once or twice would cause harm. Just make sure you tell your doctor when you go for your first appointment. Congrats and try not to worry too much.

Everything will be fine , don't worry. This happens to all women, as soon as they find out they are pregnant.Tylenol is safe during pregnancy though, your doc should tell you. But the advil you took before will have no affect. Congratulations!!!!!

first off, relax. relax. relax. everything should be fine. i don't know everything there is to know about pregnancy (and i'm only 14 weeks pregnant), but i was there in your shoes as well, however, i didn't just take something like advil. i drank and took a sleeping pill (due to insomnia) before i knew i was pregnant (yay, new year's!!). anyways, i did tell my doc about it and she told me that there isn't anything to worry about. just don't do it again, hehe. so, relax, enjoy your pregnancy and take care of yourself!! you have many worries ahead of you, but you just need to relax. ask your doc lots of questions if you don't know or second guess yourself. congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!!

Be very aware of any and all medications during this precious time. Read all labels and if unsure ask your doctor or call your local pharmacist
