ok so i'm really happy they let david go..he's been going downhill for a while and we needed someone who would actually win a game. The only thing about him i'll missis his hotness..lol

Oh and i think that whoever decided not to take vince young is an idiot..one mistake after another texans! we'll never make it to the Super Bowl this way!

do you think that the new QB will do a good job? Should we have given Carr another chance? What else do you think we could do to improve the team?

Sounds like you are a Texan fan and I applaud you for following your team even in this difficult time. I think you will be disappointed over the next few years though. David Carr is a decent NFL quarterback. He is built for the position. He has a fairly live arm. Most of all, he is tough. Carr is missing a few things. The most obvious is a decent offensive line to block for him. There has been no other QB in the history of the NFL who has been sacked as much as Carr has over a five year span. I have heard complaints that he wasn't intelligent enough to check off his receivers. Well, you need enough time to allow the play to develop. To get to your third reciever takes about 5 seconds in the pocket. Carr has had about 2. If Carr ends up anywhere other than Oakland, I think you will be looking back on this year and wishing the Texans had kept him. He may never be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning but he can be an above average QB in this league.

Now, the second thing. I am guessing there was no interest in a trade or Carr refused to renegotiate his contract because the Texans should have been able to at the least get a third round draft pick for him. Now they have nothing to show for his salary plus the cost of another starting QB (Schaub). That really puts a damper on shoring up the OL. Good luck to Schaub, I am afraid he is going to get pummeled this year.

By the way, don't get to excited about Ahman Green. He is washed up and has a fumbling problem. Sorry.

Well, obviously it was a much needed move. It didn't happen last year because of money reasons.

But, when looking at the moves the management of the Texans are making, one has to really wonder if they know what they are doing. i have looked at who they have picked up in the off season at this point, and it seems like they are picking the scraps off of other people's plates. I just do not see any bold moves made by the Texans to get some leadership on the team.

I don't know. I live near Houston, and would love to have competitive team here. But, honestly, with the moves the ownership makes, I am left wondering what they are thinking.

Who knows? Even with this move, many are still predicting they will possibly have about the same season, or win one less or so.

They needed a QB, but I do not know if this one was worth two second round picks or not. Time will tell on that one.

Honestly, after the Mario Williams ordeal last year, my head is still spinning. It makes you wonder if they are really committed to winning. And, given the seasons they have had, I still don't know why ticket prices have not come down a little. Nosebleed endzone seats are still over $40. Even in a smaller stadium, with the Astros almost always in contention to get to the playoffs, you can get a seat at Minute Maid for $15.

And people wonder why I tend to watch more college ball than the NFL.

I think the texans have improved the QB position by doing this. Shaub is an upgrade from Carr. Carr will find another place, maybe the Browns. Shaub will have some struggles in Texas though, unless they fix the offensive line. Carr had 5 years i think to do something, and has played average at best. He didn't deserve another shot. Hes an AMAZING backup, but not good enough to start.

Matt Schaub is going to have to be pretty bad to be worse than Carr so i think he'll be better. Carr didn't deserve another chance because he was given plenty of chances and ended up 22-53 or something terrible like that the only reason he could deserve another chance is he was sacked over 200 times over the past few seasons to improve they need to fix the running game and defense.

My ideal wager is that David Carr developed a foul artwork ethic throughout each offseason, as quickly as he entered the NFL. Had Carr labored no longer hassle-free and finished ok in prepare daily, he might have very much more desirable his probabilities of fixing right into a valuable, ideal notch NFL quarterback for the Houston Texans.

He could. Matt Shaub has not started many games and he does not have all the experience, but he can be big in the future. Carr needed to be cut I believe. He hopefully can join a new team and hopefully jumpstart his career again. I do think that they need to keep working up their defense and they already started doing that with the signing of Shawn Barber. Also they need to draft a defensive lineman to hopefully work up that defense so the Texans can hopefully be a playoff team this season

I think David Carr is a great talent, but he just dindt fit in with the Houston organization.

I think Shaub will give Houston a fresh new look, and they have other talent all around the ball to get to the playoffs maybe.

I think this was a good move for Shaub, Atlanta, Houston, and David Carr

Schaub has as least one thing over Carr, he's mobile. That will help if the Texans don't improve their o-line. They also need help in the secondary. If Schaub is going to be the starter for sure, then they need to think about linemen. John Madden once said, and I agree, a game is won and lost in the trenches.
