Why our civilization keep on developing?
Is it because of our brain?
Is it because of our education or etc?
Or is it because we learn from our past or history?

It would be nice if you guys could put some sources for me to refer. Thanks a lot. I'll appreciate everything you guys suggests.

A big factor is in our belief system and what we value. When you look though history, you see a lot of shifts in values where one group really valued control, another exploration, and someone else power. Each group is directly effected by what is important to them. For us, we value money- and in many ways that isn't bad at all, that's put a big value on science that leads to better things to sell- but not so much to science that leads to other avenues of life.

In the case of being modern though, everybody is modern in their own way. America may be very un-modern in our understandings of organic farming and cooking- though we have books about it, the vast majority of the population knows tons less and can do less than many other countries... but we have wireless internet... which is only a big deal now, and 10 years, it will be funny to think that this was considered modern.

It's important to know that some civilizations DO NOT advance with time. An easy example is Afghanistan. It actually went backwards...because of the Taliban. There are other examples (without a doubt), in Asia and Africa. What do advanced nations have in common? Christianity, democracy and a general lack of corruption and superstition.

It is estimated that humanity's collective knowledge doubles every seven years. That means we are learning from each other at a faster rate than ever before.

Maybe it's because of what we learn from our past. our necessities in the past drives people to invent things. people want to change what they had experienced in the past. they want to make things better for the next generation

First came life, then man... then man made tools, then tools made man... then tools and man were in-distinguishable from one another. The latter is next to modern.
