There are no dry foods recalled as of now. Just go to the Menu Foods site and you can find a list of all recalled pet foods. They are all "wet" foods. There are no Purina foods recalled except for the canned Mighty Dog. I'm not sure about Meow Mix. I went to the health food store and purchased organic "Newman's Own" just to be on the safe side as they have very strict standards to be organic and cannot be manufactured with non-organic foods. Who knows if dry food will be next. Good luck to all pet owners (including myself).

Mighty dog was voluntarily recalled by Nestle because of it being manufactured by menu foods. I believe menu foods only makes wet food, please correct me if I'm wrong. Purina really isn't the best, but with the recall I cant recommend anything that might be safe except home cooking or raw. Meow mix is crap it is not recalled (yet...) but it should be for not containing anything worth eating.

According to the website, it's 'only' the moist food in cans and satchets/pouches that's poisoned. Apparently dry food is okay.
However, if I was feeding a dog or a cat at the moment, frankly, I'd only feed fresh meat from your local butchers.

As of now, all DRY Cat & Dog foods- are FINE. And they'll probably stay that way. However, until further notice, all CANNED pet foods- are SUSPECT, until the government can uncover the source of the contamination. If you have any canned pet foods- call your grocery store & see what they say & if they'll refund your $ for it. This looks like a serious matter...-& it could take QUITE awhile to settle out. In the MEANTIME, you can doctor up your cat & dogs dry food to make it more palatable to them. Hopefully- they won't mind too much. :)

she eats chicken thighs, chicken liver, and beef liver..
so she never eats dog food, except for her kibbles from Purina.. i think its so sad whats going on... try to lay off the food for a bit..
you'll know if they get sick.. ask your vet for more details
