I have been in college for 10 years.

French is worthless, no offense to the French but you won't need that, companies don't need that.

Spanish is very important, its a plus on your resume. That will make you bilingual, useful. Most companies with the best positions required Spanish. Private and public sectors.

Now, once you have Spanish you can teach. And if you take 45 credits, then u will have your masters and if you take some more credits (depending on the university requisits) you can get your doctors and become a professor at any university.

Now, why French?? wouldn't be better if you major in Computer Science and Spanish? or........ Psychology and Spanish? or Law and Spanish..........u get the point?

Is like having two cards under your arm. If one doesn't work , u do the other one or u combine them. Meaning, if you become a pshychologist, lawyer, etc you can work as that, and attrack Spanish customers (which a monolingual can't).......If you apply for a job, employers like to hire bilinguals.

Lastly, you can be ,let say, an arquitect and at night or on weekends work for a university as a professor in Spanish.

Now, interpreters at a court house make good money too. You can do that while going to school. But hey, that isn't an easy one. Those test are very difficult.

Anyways, just wanted to give you some ideas.

Hope it helps.

Don't worry about not knowing anything about French and Spanish, you'll learn in College.

You can become a translator or a teacher in most Spanish or French speaking countries, as well as in the US. There are lots of companies looking for people willing to learn foreign languages in order to help them in their business.

You can also be an English teacher in French or Spanish speaking countries.

Go on an international exchange student program while in college so that you can explore the possibilities.

My uncommon DH was once a international language foremost after which grew to become an F-sixteen pilot. To end up a pilot, even though, you have to be aggressive and meet the entire eligibility standards, and a few majors is also extra in call for than others.
