it all depends on how you try to sell it just trying to sell it on your own it might be worth $100 to somebody but if you can get a big auction house to sell it for you you could get a few thousand

Depends on what the letter is about. And it also depends if its authentic.
If the letter (assuming its authentic) has some great historical significance, the letter will be well priced.
But if its a letter with little historical value - a personal letter - it still be worth alot of money - but maybe not as much as an item of great historical value.
Either way, you will need to get it valued by a professional - not just one but maybe 3. And then when you have a round figure of what its worth, then you can start putting a figure down if you want to sell it.

That is a rare item. If in mint condition and authenticated it could be worth thousands of dollars. Try looking on eBay for a similar item.

Check eBay - a good source for general prices if you suspect it is real - to get a handle on "asking price/market value" .
To REALLY get it appraised or authenticated - contact Sothebys - (auction house ) or Swans both specialists in rare books and manuscripts. Any history, or what is called provenance is helpful (where did you get it?) Very helpful to establish if it is real.
