I purchased a pair of jeans from Express a few weeks ago. I wore them a few times and washed it once. After washing it for the first time, I noticed that the stiches are coming off of my new jeans. I brought them back to the store for an exchange but the store won't take them back since it has been worn and washed. I don't have a receipt for this jeans but I used Express credit card so that they can trace back my purchase. Also who else other than Express make Express Jeans...right? What do you guys think about this? Is it my fault that the stitches are coming off?? I think jeans are meant to be stronger than this... Please see the picture and let me know your opinion. Thanks.

Take them back to the store again! Don't allow them to push you around like that. If you just purchased them, the stitching shouldn't be coming out already. Ask for the manager and if that doesn't work, e-mail Express directly. They will most likely forward the message to the district manager.

I used to work for The Limited and at my store we would have taken them back and given you store credit. If you don't want to go back to the same Express, go to another one near you. Just say that you always wash jeans before you wear them and after washing them you noticed that the stitching was coming undone.

it could be a multitude of things.
if there is an actual hole forming then yes poor making-their fault
if you snagged it on something-your fault
if it snagged on something like a bra in the washing machine-blame it on them ;] or the bra whichever works
if only the top decorative stitching is coming off but the main stitch is still holding up then its probably not such a big deal. just go over it with thread thats close in color.
but it should basically come down to one thing, whether you like the jeans and how they look.
if they look nice and you really like them then try and fix them especially if you got a good deal on them.
-good luck

I hate when this kind of crap happens! It is obvious that is was poor quality work. Threaten to go write the company heads themselves and bug them to death until they do something. Look up consumer rights on the internet for resources to get help. You shouldn't have to pay for shoddy clothing! Good Luck!

Stupid Express. Im sick of spending money on supposedly good quality clothing and having it come undone like that in no time at all. They should be giving these away! At the LEAST, your money back. Boycott!

That is a normal thing that happens, Jeans are sewn first and then sent for finishing, methods used for finishing are really hard on the thread and weakens it.
