Besides a small allowance for regular weekly chores, I will sometimes pay my daughters who are that age extra for extra work I need done around the house or for washing my car. When I was little, I could make money picking up bottles and cans to get recycling money, rake yards, and lots of other things that other people would rather pay someone else to do than do it themselves.
