For the most part, people have stopped discriminating against African Americans, but have just switched to homosexuals. When will people learn that discrimination is discrimination? Why can't people learn from the past?

We are living in an era of civil rights struggles. People think that because a few translations of words in the Bible say "homosexual", that that's what the original writers meant. Having a predominant culture that beleives in this book permits these peopel to engage in bigotry, but not recognize it as such. They call it "love". It's the only kind of love that I know of that breaks bones and calls names.

Though homosexuals do have hard time, I don't think its as bad as the Civil Rights Movement was. There is a lot of homophobia still, but there is so much support for gays now.
I'm not saying that homosexuals have an easy time because they don't, but its still a lot easier for them that it was for African Americans during the 50's.
Hopefully though, since African Americans are now excepted into society as they should be, maybe one day soon so will homosexuals.

Absolutely not. It's insulting to those who participated in the Civil Rights movement to even suggest it. I don't see homosexuals getting hosed down en masse by government officials. I don't see them being refused entry to public schools. I don't see them being sent to their own separate bathroom facilities or water fountains. I don't see them being kept away from polling places during elections. I don't see them being attacked by police dogs. I don't see them being forced to give up their seats on buses or even sent to sit in the rear. I don't see them being denied service in restaurants.
