Uhm sweetie, for about the last ten years, all divorces are deemed "no contest" or "irreconscileable differences". They threw out adultery years ago because once someone had proof, the cases were so lopsided in penalizing a cheater that it actually violated a person's civil rights to a fair trial. I understand the sanctity of marriage, but your quest to make him pay the hard way is going to fall on deaf ears in the courtroom. They don't want the emotional drama, they only want to make sure everything is distributed equally and fairly according to your state statutes.

And please don't assume I don't think he should pay....oh honey, if you only knew how many home wrecking, dream shattering losers I come across. Personally, I think they deserve nothing but a future full of guilt, shame and bad karma. Find your peace in the fact that you were wise enough to leave him and do better. It's the best revenge. Cutting all the crotches out of all his pants and shorts helps, but when the court makes you pay for them...I've learned it can be expensive....so stick with the moving on.

My heart goes out to you. I too am a victim (boy that sounds strange to write) of adultery. I caught her in the act. The state I live in is a no-fault state. It basically means that the kids (if you have them) get a formula-based child support amount and all assets/liabilities are split 50/50. I could prove it but it doesn't make a difference. We can't change the past. We both will need to learn accept the facts and move forward. Life is short...get right with the Lord, pray everyday, and one day you will find love again...I promise.

Much love,
