I agree with ROCKER_CHICK on the whole lyrical being expressive thing, i am also a dancer. However, lyrical most of the time comes across as sad. Here are some songs you should use if you want your dance to have a sad feel to it.

for lyrical:
closer - goapele
she will be loved - maroon 5
white flag - dido
to zion - lauryn hill

Here are some rhythmic songs for jazz:

fever - i don't know the artist
when doves cry - prince

I hope i helped:)

I just did a jazz solo and i used Move from Dreamgirls. A lot of songs from dreamgirls would work as either jazz or lyrical. Another song that you could do is Candle in the wind by Elton john. It would works for lyrical and if you get the original one(about Marilyn Monroe) you can do lots of cute movements and be very very creative with them.

Good Luck!

For lyrical it really depends on what your going for. Im a dancer. I do lyrical a lot and I would say go with something you can relate with because lyrical is suppose to be very expressive. For my advanced lyrical class we are doing a dance to the symphonic version of rock you like a hurricane its pretty awsome. For my solo Im doing "if everyone cared" by nickelback. Last year I did frozen by madona. I like "the only one" by evanescence. It really just depends what your going for. One year I did "bitter sweet symphony". And for jazz are you going more seductive and sexy or happy go lucky? If your going more sexy go for something like rock of ages by def leppard, sexy back by jt, a lot of 80's rock actually, like cherry pie, pour some sugar on me, for newer stuff aint no other man is a good one. If your going more happy and showy, go for something like unwritten by natasha bettingfield, i got the power, dance dance. IDK man theres a lot of different types of styles of lyricals and jazz. Good luck though, hopes this helps a little bit.
