Is it fair for the woman to suggest that he get it reversed if she already has kids and does not want any?

If the woman wants kids then she is the wrong woman for him. No it is not fair.

I had a vasectomy at 21. I never want kids. Having had the vasectomy has been a dating nightmare. Many women consider it a “deal breaker”. But I got over it, by finding a partner that hates kids.

A vasectomy has no side effects, and leaves no scar. If I could go back in time, I’d just keep my mouth shut. No woman I dated need to know about it. When the subject of children comes up, just change the subject. The problem will not exist.

I for one would be ecstatic if I met a single guy who didn't have kids and was already sterilized. There are those of us women who are childfree as well (just don't want to have them and will not change our minds on that). People always say "oh you'll regret it!" or "you'll change your mind when you get older!" or "that's a life altering decision! are you sure you should make it?!" Yeah, well, I've seen what happens when people go ahead and have kids, and one spouse really didn't want them. It;s not pretty folks...there's nothing bad about just not wanting to have kids. It is a legitimate choice for someone to make. It is a little tougher to find someone, but I would think it is better for you to be happy in the life path you decide on, then to be trapped in a life that you cannot change.

The same as any other person on earth. Those are reversable now, so as long as you are honest with her from the start about your having had one, I don't see the problem. If you aren't willing to have it reversed, then that is something you should tell her alos. but hey, I've met lots of girls who don't want kids of their own.
So I suggest being honest and upfront with her about it. Good luck!

i dated a man who had a vasectomy and never had kids. he was/is a wonderful person and i totally enjoyed the time i had with him. (he moved away, but we parted on good terms)
anyway, i would think most women judge a man by his character..if not, then you wouldn't want to be with her anyway, right?
p.s. if you're thinking of dating someone who wants children AND you want children, one could always adopt. or have the procedure reversed.

It is in a womens make up to want to have a child with the man she loves. For a woman having a mans child is the ultimate commitment of love.

Your chances are zero if she wants kids. There are women out there that do not want kids so you and woman with those views could hit it off.

Good luck!

I wouldn't like it. I think the majority of women want kids.
