Did you get that from King of Queens? I just seen that episode yesterday on re-runs. Funny, I wondered the same thing and thought about asking it!

You must be a 'natural born citizen.' That means American by birth, not by naturalization. If your parents are American but outside the country, you're still an American by birth and still eligible to run for President.

Why not read what the Constitution actually says?

"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Yes, because your parents' citizenship transfers to you. Mitt Romney's daddy, George had to deal with this question in 1968, when he ran for president. He was born in Mexico. Of course, it did not matter in the end, because he made one of the worst gaffs in the history of presidential campaigning. He made the infamous remark about being "brainwashed' by the government, during his trip to South Vietnam. The people who are saying no, must have flunked high school government class.

I dont believe you can, but atleast you will be an American citizen by default and a citizen of the country you were born in. Now if she has you on or over International waters then I believe you can still run, cuz you will have a choice of citizenship, from your parents or the counrty of the port of dock.

If your parents are both U.S. citizens, you are a U.S. citizen regardless of where in the world you were born. The country where you were born may also give you citizenship rights, but that is a different issue.

your citizenship is determined by your parents. if they are american citizens then you are automaticaly american by birth regardless of what country you are born in so yes you could run for president.

I think the best person or information that you really are desperate to knowing, should be the website for that country.

You can send a enquiry email to the secretary office from the country's webpage and they would give you all the necessary answers and correct informations that you would require.

You would have 1st hand and 1st class answers from them.

Cheers
