Because Yahoo has recently set up the default to only show the first 8 characters of a username. So if you have 9 or more letters/spaces, they print the first 8 and three dots. Even though it would fit all nine letters, or 10 in your case, that is just they way they have set it up.

Look at the asker's name here, it is vanessa l (9 characters), and they have it as vanessa ... - if she did not have the space there, it would have all shown up. But it would have been shorter for Yahoo to just put the l than the three dots.

I think it's because they just want your name in a certain space. Some people can make their whole name show up, but I don't know how...
