According to CNN.com, the gluten is NOT from the U.S., the wheat was NOT sprayed with rodenticide. Misinformation breeds hysteria, please get your facts straight before you post. If your pet has not already gotten sick from the said foods, and you have been wise enough to stop feeding it, then your pets will be okay. The only pets that will still get sick and possibly die are the ones whose owners have not become aware of the recall and still feed the affected foods.
No where has it been mentioned, in official news releases, that terrorism is suspected.

The rat poison they found in the food is different than the kind we use here in the US. Our rat poison here usually causes bleeding because it destroys clotting factors - this is not what's going on with the animals that are sick from this pet food. This chemical was used in China to kill or repell rats. Somehow it got on the wheat that was shipped over here to be used by this one factory to make pet food. The chemical causes kidney damage when it crystalizes and is excreted by the kidneys. I don't understand why we had to buy wheat from China when we seem to have plenty here.

is it really safe?
It doesnt matter who the liberal party is. Fact is many pet food warehouses import produce from other countries.
It wasnt just wet foods that were affected...wake up people..they arent going to tell us that dry was too. They are going to lie to us to keep america this little dream world.
Most pet foods if not all include wheat gluten..so does most of the foods we eat.
Problem is that tons of what we produce here in the states is not even used here...it is exported...and we import the same dang thing and charge consumers a higher amount for it. We can be a self sustainging country...but we have something called government. And no matter who is in there it is not going to change. They will make us believe what we want to.
It is the way we are now....Shaz

according to cnn.com (?) it's rat poison in the gluten from China. Like my mom said to me today, how do we know it's not in our food then? We eat wheat and gluten products all the time, and goodness knows, a LOT of the food we eat isn't even from the united states. SCARY!

The rat poision is in the wheat that was added to the dog food. Who knows anymore...It could be an honest mistake or it could be terroism meaning the wheat to end up in human food...

I lost 3 hunting beagles about a month ago. The food dates back to Dec. I wish they would have annouced the problem earlier. I got rid of the rest of the dogs because I didn't know what was going on and thought it might be something in the ground and didn't want the other dogs to suffer and die.
