Why are there so many? It started with the Real World & Road Rules. Which was fine. But now there one every freakin' channel, and most of them are a waste of film.(Flava Flav,The Simple Life,Laguna Beach,Sweet Sixteen etc. Can't they come up with some decent shows that dont involve dating 20 people to find your perfect match? Or these snobby rich kids & thier drama.
What's wrong with shows that actually deal with real life issues like racism, drugs, eating disorders?
I find that to be more important than watching who's dating whom, or how much money is being wasted on these ungrateful rich kids.
What's your opinion?

The reason there are too many is that they're really cheap to produce, compared to real shows, but they draw an audience anyway.
If only people stopped watching that crap, then maybe there wouldn't be so much of it.

I agree there are WAY to many reality shows, but I guess that's what the 15-35 crowd like. Me personally (not being in that age group) can think of only two reality TV shows (if they can be called that) that I used watch on a regular basis were "Airline" (when it first started) and "Family Plots" which revolved around a family who ran a funeral home business. I thought they were fairly decent shows. I know that "Airline" is still on with newer episodes. It just seems that most (if not all) of these reality shows of today cater to a younger audience, but then again I guess that's where most of the TV market is aimed these days.

I agree 100% that there are way too many reality tv shows flooding the market. They used to say that "reality shows" were the fresh, new idea. Something to keep the tv from being the same old shows, re-runs, re-makes, knock-offs, etc. But, look at how many are the same.
How many talent shows, dating shows, etc. do they need on the air at one time before they realize that THEY ARE THE SAME? As for shows like "The Bachelor," how many of the women get on the show just for a chance to be noticed? I wouldn't want to be on a show to find a guy that is seeing all of these other women at the same time. Cameras on you for everything....How many of these couples (that end up together) really end up together? How many that do, end up lasting? (We know of ONE....TRISTA AND RYAN.)
The ONLY one that I enjoy watching is not even real....it is SURREAL. I like watching VH-1's train wreck...."The Surreal Life." I think watching celebrities do stupid stuff is kind of funny.
But, watching people eat bugs, and do stupid stuff on Survivor...not entertaining to me.
As for shows dealing with real life issues, they are fine...except they turn into something either too trashy or too preachy. They never stick to what is important. They tend to change to try to draw in higher ratings. (The Maury Show is the Paternity Test Show.) It is always 5-6 women who slept with 15-20 guys....and their big problem is who is the baby's daddy??? I don't think so. I think they missed the point. If you sleep with that many guys...your odds of getting pregnant, getting a disease, or whatever goes up.

I so agree! I like Real World, and I admit I got sucked into watching Flava Flav, but I hate a lot of that other crap on TV.

it rather is a flash of short-term exposure. it is unhappy she has victimized her very own infants to learn the attention she craves. the finished problem says some thing relating to the 'white trash' area of yankee subculture. (no remember what colour she is, it is organic white trash action). That on my own makes this nicely worth staring at. i'm particular she'll discover techniques to get stated interior the information now and back. optimistically it is not a homicide / suicide or some thing that is composed of infants being harm. I heard she usual one million funds to famous guy or woman in an grownup action picture.

As long as people like and watch them, they are going to create more. Its a money making deal. If they like one show then someone is going to make the same thing but a different title and different situations just to cash in the money. If you are watching them, then you are supporting the reality craze! :)

Its not that there is too many Reality TV show's its that their is to many similiar Reality TV show's. They need some different one's that they haven't had before. And that is why people are getting tired of TV reality show's.
