I am being induced on Monday night, at that stage I will be 40wks and 7days. It is my second baby and I was induced with my first. I really don't want to be induced again and I would like to hear of any ways, no matter how strange, to bring on my labour....I'm desperate!!

I've heard all the usual ones..... hot sex & hot curry, pineapple, nipple stimulation, sex, sex, sex, walking, etc. None have worked and I am running out of time.

Baby's head has been down and engaged for about 3 weeks but my cervix is still posterior and closed. Well it was yesterday, hoping it has changed today LOL..

Any suggestions will be really appreciated

If you use castor oil, do you still have diaharrea (sp?) in labour?

Have you tried castor oil? I went into labor with my second daughter using it at the suggestion of my midwife. This was her recipe:
You make a rootbeer float (I used diet coke because I HATE rootbeer) with 1 can rootbeer, 3 oz. castor oil, and a couple of scoops of vanilla icecream. Drink it down with a peanut butter cup chaser to cut down the oiliness.

It really doesn't taste bad, but it IS oily. If I were going to do it again, I'd drink it out of a straw for sure! What it does is causes diarrhea. The bowels and uterus are very close together. So, in theory, if you can irritate the bowels enough they will in turn irritate the uterus and voila'...labor. I drank my float at 6:00 p.m. Started having diarrhea at about 6:30 p.m., went into labor at 11:00 p.m. & had my baby at 11:45. Good luck!

Have you tried rasberry tea, even if it doesn't help with bringing on your labour some people think it helps with contractions.

My first baby was 4 weeks early born 2 days after starting rasberry tea, I avoided it in my second pregnancy and my daughter was several days over, probably just a coincidence.

Good luck! and congratulations.

You don't have to "perform" your birth by a certain time or date!! Let your baby be born when he or she is ready!!
It is not REQUIRED to be induced. That is your CHOICE. don't let the doctors pressure you into this for their convenience and let them convince you it is for your "safety."

If you want to hurry labor along at home, the only scientifically proven way to do it is sex. Let him go and go and go - the oxytocin hormone that is emitted in his ...ahem... "stuff" is natural pitocin. You seriously need to relax. Read some stories on natural birth, and try to stay out of the hospital till the last minute. Try Laura Shantley's website (look it up on google - it should come right up.) The risks of induction include the likeleyhood of an emergency c-section, which they downplay the after-effects of. Just make an informed choice, ok?

I was also told to do all of those things and they didn't work for me either, I think I must of walked 20 miles and still ended up being induced anyway. Good Luck to you

Tell the baby very sweetly to come out. Okay, my daughter didn't have a chance for a natural birth as she had twins and had to have a C-section

Evening primrose oil

Put 2 capsules up inside of you at night before bed.
It releases prostaglandin which will ripen your cervix and produce labor horomones.
Worked for me!

I ran for 4 years, and that i did no longer care what my footwear regarded like, i in simple terms wanted to stay harm unfastened, and in the adventure that your gonna be working daily there is gonna be undesirable climate so it is not suitable.

Try laying on your left side if you haven't. My mom had to do that before her labor really started at all. It helps for a lot of people. Maybe it will help for you too.
