and what is taught in a Coach training class? Please be specific. Thanks everyone!

It varies by school district. Some require nothing more than a background in swimming. Other require a substitute teacher certificate and still others a degree in Health and/or PE. Most require a lfieguarding or WSI certification. My friend Jessica coaches at a county high school and she is simply a swimmer with bad shoulders, a WSI cert. and a degree in accounting. I would check with the school to see what they require.

For highschool swim coaching, you don't need anything more than what a PE teacher would have. A background in Physical Education and a college degree. You might make $25,000 a year.

If you decided to be a college swim coach, you'd need a lot more certification but you'd make upwards of $70,000 a year in some cases. Check it out:
