Discounts for travel industry interline staff are often misleading as they discount the rack rates by say 25-50% which is often more than you can obtain from commercially discounted rates like Cheaper than Hotels UK.
Try comparing the discount rates you obtain with some of the offers shown here which often include free extras like breakfasts, standby rate [ last minute ] and use of amenities. You need to dig into the hotel offerings to reveal this beyone the prices.
- but you can find some occassional genuine exceptions - but at least here you can have a choice.

ask for friends and family rate at an intercontinental hotel groups hotel like Holiday Inn or so ....you have to dial 1800holiday to get this rate
