Congrats! My son will be in the 6th grade too. It is a scarey change going from elementary to jr high! It does not matter how many friends you have. I would rather have a few close friends than be friends with lots of people who really didn't care about me. Enjoy 6th grade! Before you know it, you will be in High School!!!!

Don't worry so much. I'm in 6th grade now, and I've been doing fine. Do any of your 5th grade teachers know who your friends are? Last year, I switched between 2 classes, and my best friend was in the class I switched with. Since I know both teachers, they notice connections between friends, so they put us together in the next grade. And school is no harder or easier than 5th grade, its just depends on how fast you learn. And I only have 5 close friends, so you're not abnormal because of the amount of friends you have...

When I started sixth grade, I wasn't in the same class as any of my friends. But that just gave me a chance to make new ones. Everyone's nervous on the first day of school, especially the first day of a new school. The only way to deal with it is to live it day by day. What's life without a few obstacles here and there?

6th grade is one of the best grades. You're slowly growing up and you've got a chance to prove yourself before jr. high (depending on where you live) even if you don't end up with one of your friends (and I think you'll end up with at least one) you can always make new ones. Good luck and just keep trying.

the chances are that you probably will be with your friends.....but you can always switch your classes with your school counselor.......that would be better unless they end up in a gifted class then that would be bad.....but 6th grade isnt all bad its just a review of 5th grade and some new things in 2nd semester......you'll now what im talking about once you get there.....goodluck!...and trust me im in 6th grade

Probably at least a few of your old friends will be in some classes but you'll be surprised how quick you can make some new ones too. It's a whole different thing and I bet you'll love it. There's always a few idiots but such is life! LOL

Don't worry, it'll be fine. I ended up with all of my friends. Plus you'll make new friends. It'll be fun. Enjoy it now because jr. high goes by pretty fast.

dont worry, if you get any calasses with them most likely you will be able to talk to them and still be friends, but if you dont it gets kinda tough. but dont fear join a sport or club with them. somehow manage to spend time with them.

and you will make so many new friends. it wont be bad at all. different but good. good luck!

It really depends on how big your school is. Chances are, you'll have at least one or two classes, or at least a lunch period, with someone you know.

No worries...it'll be just fine!
