I have seen many awful comments about us Black people
on here.... what did we do to you?
I hope that the yahoo staff doesn't remove this... because
many people asked this questions too.

Don't be ashame... it won't hurt my feelings.
You won't be racist.
I just want to know what can we Black people do to
improve ourselves?

Well, there are white racists and there are black racists. If one says something about the other, then, the other can't let it go. It's a vicious cycle. There will never be peace and harmony betweent the two. This is just my observation from what I've read on here. One's just as bad as the other in my opinion. Both races are equally hateful. You or I as an idividual may not be doing this, but, the people that are.....are only keeping the hatred going.

"Improve ourselves"?! We don't owe anything to anybody. Most of the things that THEY think about us is some BS stereotype. And they might go through a bad experience with 1 or a few people, and somehow feel the need to put the blame on all of us. I know I'm not any of those things, so I really don't care what THEY think. Because they(racist people) all appear to be very ignorant anyway. So why get upset? Why feel bad about being a black person? That's exactly how they want you to feel. Love yourself! And love your culture!

Honey , people who are ignorant and insult others just because they are different than they are , should be looked at with pity . They are only out to put others down because it makes them feel superior in some way. There are some on here like that but they are so sick that they repeat their hurtful
comments which makes it look like more than it really is . I wouldn't be concerned about them . Just remember God sees all , and we all reap what we sow !

You cannot be seriously asking people on this site that can barely type a question how we as a race need improvement. We are fine, we have a couple of bad apples, but improvement comes from within us, not a couple of bigots and kids on yahoo answers!

I'm not against any color of people. I do wish the races would mix more in churches. Most churches seem to be 'white' or 'black'. It would be great if we worshipped together. As a white girl I think some whites fear blacks because of things we heard and were taught in our childhood. In the 5th grade my teacher told the class to not go to the carnival in town because the blacks were there cutting people with razor blades. Now as an adult I know better. There are good in all races. There are bad in all races.

Look at the stereotypical answer from patriot 07.... how in the world can you lump ALL people of the same color into one category, ALL Black people do not act the same, so how can one justify that he doesn't like the behavior of Black people.

I do not like the behavior of SOME white people, some are racist, most are not!!!!

My husband is black and I am white. My two children are mixed. I get more discrimination from the black culture than my husband does from the white. Its really sad because it is ok for blacks to be racist, but not for whites. :(
Being in both cultures I understand the stereotypes on both sides.
As far as black people "improving themselves" well... every culture needs improvement in an area... but racism itself stems from them. Using the "N" word is ok... why? Whites arent allowed to say it, so why do blacks call eachother that? Being PROUD of being ghetto is not cool... being as though "ghetto" is actually a group of illiterate, uneducated, and povertous people. My husband is embarrased that his people carry that image with pride.
Then there are events like Hurricane Katrina... where all of the New Orleans moves to Houston and our crime rate more than doubles... and go figure, they are all (at least as portrayed on the media) black. They all get shoved in the astrodome, and yes, it is hard times... but people want to go help them and none of our husbands will let us because all of the 20-something year old black males are raping everyone... so we want to help and cant. Then everyone wonders why there are stereotypes. And because I am married to a black man, I understand that this is not a direct representation of the black culture... but those who do not regularly interact only see the crime and the "ghetto" and the sagging pants and grills. Both of which are symbols of poverty (sagging pants came from prisoners, grills came from people who were unable to afford dentists.) The same things that blacks are offended by when others point out, are the things they parade around as their "heritage" and "culture" and "pride."
That said, I do have to say that there are SO MANY things I LOVE about the black culture... and so many things that we as a society would not have without them!!!!!
As with ANY culture... there are areas for improvement... and areas that are strength and contribute to the backbone of America's melting pot!
Really we all need to stop separating ourselves by skin tones... my children are half black and half white and they have blonde hair and blue eyes and everyone thinks one looks hispanic and one looks asian... so really... cant we all just be AMERICAN????!!!!!!!

You should not let a few idiots make you think you've done something wrong. Most are just young and stupid and enjoy pissing people off. The true racists would hate you no matter what you do, so don't give them a second thought. Be the best you can be and don't worry about them.

Anyone that hates someone just because of the physical attributes that they are born with is a complete idiot. I can't stand racist people, they are unhappy and unfulfilled so that's their little way of getting out their frustrations. Every person is a individual, no one is perfect, everyone has aspects of their personality that they need to improve.

Naturally, I don't think Black people did anything wrong. It's because White people think that Black people are evil, since you got black skin. Well, doesn't matter you are black or not, as long as your heart is not black (evil), you are good people.
