I don't hate them but I just think they are overrated...I liked a lot of their songs but Kurt Cobain didn't do anything different than any other musician has ever done in his genre!

Everyone likes different music at different times. Sometimes I think Nirvana is great and at other times I don't want to listen to them at all. Some people wouldn't listen to them to begin with and others wouldn't listen to anything else.

because everyone has different likes and dislikes. some like it hot some like it ciold some prefer country some like rock and roll. if everyone all liked the same things, then this world would be pretty boring wouldn't ya think?

From what I remember in high school when they were at the height of popularity the ones who liked them connected with their music emotionally whereas those who did not like them found their musicianship lacking.

its a matter of opinion...not veryone in the world will like the same thing and no one will hate the same thing...i like nirvana tho but my brother cant stand them...but i accept his opinion and he accepts mine

Because they suck, for the following reasons:
1. Kurt Cobain's voice does and will always suck a s s.
2. Kurt Cobain's guitar playing is technically somewhat decent but so far inferior to the greats of this past 50 years its not even funny (Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads) and he also seemed to have no concept of what sounds good.
3. Kurt Cobain's lyrics are meaningless and abrasive. "She has a moist v a g i n a?"
And some people are too stupid to realize it.
