I just bought a 2001 cavalier, manual trans. this is my first car and I am a total idiot about cars
I am traveling out of the states for three weeks on vacation. I don't know anyone here who can take care of the car while I am gone.
What I want to know is, would it be ok to just leave it in the parking lot ( it is just the apaertment complex parking lot). or is there a service that can store the car for me and make sure the battery will not die while I am gone.
NB. When I bought the car I didn't know if the battery is new or not
thank you

3 weeks should be no problem, but when you get back be sure to check the tire pressure, battery, and put fresh gas in the tank. Have a good trip.

If you are worried about a clock or some other LED caused battery drain, disconnect the negative battery cable.

But as most folks here suggested, 3 weeks is not a big deal. I have 4 vehicles. Sometimes some sit for months and they start right up.

You could do that, have a neighbor check on it - or you could check with a local self storage company and see if you could rent a unit and park it in there if you're worried about it being safe, but no, a car sitting for 3 wks should be fine (I know a truck driver and she leaves her car anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month and a half)...good luck & safe travels

Not a prob to leave it there. I have 3 old muscle cars and never drive them in winter, so they go untouched for 3-4 months, and always fire right up. Just take the battery out an put it in the trunk.

i own a repair shop, and just for 3 weeks you,ll be alright on that amount of time, there's nothing that will go dead on it or anything special you have to do for that short of a time,id just make sure someone could watch it for me,other than that it will be just fine, good luck hope this helps.
