Depending on where u live they can work from early in the morning like our 1st news program starts at 6am, so this means they r there probably like the latest 5 r 4:30 am. Some states have news that start at 5am so they r there at least 1 or 1 1/2 hrs before to prep and get info r other things before they go on. Look at the national morning shows, I remember hearing Katie r Meredith had to commute from her home like an hour away from the studio so they had to get up early to leave and get their things together before they went on. Some continue to work throughout the day, like we have a 12 noon program and of course nightly news at 5,6 and 10 pm. Of course with different crews for the nightly news. Local newscasters do get regular days off and have fill in personal. If its national they usually tell u like they r on vacation but they do work most days a year.
