My first son didn't have a problem with his circumcision, but his parents did-- we realized after time had passed that we had taken something away from him that was not our right, and should not have been touched.

Also, we thought we were doing right by our faith (Catholic), but closer scrutiny showed that the Catholic church actually forbids body modifications and all forms of mutilation in the Catechism. So my pierced ears & tattoos are sending me straight to Purgatory... LOL But really, we thought we were following our faith and found instead that we were actually going *against* it, as are countless other Catholics out there. Seemed a stupid reason to have lopped off a piece of our son's penis, either way.

And surgery as an alternative to teaching good hygiene?!? What idiot thought up that excuse? Hmmm, must have been one of the docs from back in the early 20th century, when they were scrambling for reasons to validate circumcision once the old "it cures lunacy and masturbation" lies (and many others) were exposed....

If God had meant for men to have foreskins, they'd have been born with them. ;)

We left our 2nd son intact, FWIW, and it hasn't caused a single problem for him. He knows how to keep himself clean.

Two boys...no circumcision. We did quite a bit of research on the procedure and found that in this day and age it is completely unnecessary. Fewer and fewer parents are choosing to have this performed on their children. We will teach the boys about how to clean themselves and hope that that will be enough to keep infections and other problems away.

They cut him wrong. Which ended up on him bleeding too much. I would have a gauze w/ Vaseline on it also on the diaper.
It took longer to heal. I would always have Vaseline on the inside top so it wouldn't peel off the new skin.

Let me know if this is helpfull.
We went through a can / bottle what ever its called of Vaseline

Didn't have my sons circumcised so I didn't have to worry about problems with it.

No problems. Just make sure you clean the area well, especially once the ring around the tip of the penis comes off.

I know a man, who had a botched circumcision and infection, when he was young..and he only has a stub now, (about 1cm) hes a very messed up man. And has never gotten used to it and has no time for his parents. My advice....dont do it!

Except for the act itself during which he screamed out for a moment, he was fine. I cleaned it like I was told to by the pediatrician and that was that. (My husband doesn't think they cut enough off, either. I think it's fine.)

Yes he was against the idea as he felt it was in violation of his personal choice. So, I gave him a glass of warm milk laced with sedatives and by cover of night the deed was done.
