Liberal republicans like Mark Foley:
Remember Jeb Bush is controlled by a Mexican woman, and remember G.W Bush has many Mexican friends.
So... leave the Mexicans alone!

I think the Liberal Republicans want a Jewish General Attorney, instead a Mexican one.

No, i'm picking on him because he is a liar, and the proof just came out today.

If the Attorney General of the United States, the highest lawyer in the land, cant even tell the truth about something as simple as if he was involved in the removal of some of his employees, how can you trust him to interpret the Constitution?

i have to comment to the above poster: That habeus corpus comment made me sick when i heard it.

Article One, Section IX expressely guarentees Habeus Corpus, unless in case of rebellion or invasion.

I dont think either of those applies today.

Again, how can you trust an AG that doesnt even believe in the very first Article of the Constitution?

Oh the race card, and raised probably by a racist!

It isn't him, it is his lies and his continual attack on the US Constitution!

Gonzales is American, not Mexican, though he does have Mexican roots! He was born in San Antonio, Texas!

Gonzales says the Constitution doesn't guarantee habeas corpus

Attorney general's remarks on citizens' right astound the chair of Senate judiciary panel

Bob Egelko, Chronicle Staff Writer

One of the Bush administration's most far-reaching assertions of government power was revealed quietly last week when Attorney General Alberto Gonzales testified that habeas corpus -- the right to go to federal court and challenge one's imprisonment -- is not protected by the Constitution.

"The Constitution doesn't say every individual in the United States or every citizen is hereby granted or assured the right of habeas,'' Gonzales told Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Jan. 17.
Gonzales acknowledged that the Constitution declares "habeas corpus shall not be suspended unless ... in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.'' But he insisted that "there is no express grant of habeas in the Constitution.''

Specter was incredulous, asking how the Constitution could bar the suspension of a right that didn't exist -- a right, he noted, that was first recognized in medieval England as a shield against the king's power to dispatch troublesome subjects to royal dungeons. ...

He is not being "picked on". He is being investigated to see if he broke the law or failed to uphold his duty to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Do not be loyal to this person merely because of his ancestry. That should not count at all. None. Performance, ability, HONESTY should matter a LOT more than ancestry.

It's not a question of race, leave that out. Get informed on the subject before you start blabbing and embarrass yourself further.

I don't think they care what his race is. If he lies he lies. If he is corrupt he is corrupt. Besides Bush could always replace Gonzo with another hispanic. What? do you think he is only allowed one hispanic per cabinet post per administration?
