Evolution is like gravity, a fact, not a theory. There is no way to predict the appearance or capabilitiy of humans in a million years let alone a billion. The only thing we can be certain of is that environments will change. By a billion years the Sun will perhaps be just beginning to enter fuel depletion and just starting to get bigger. So things on Earth may be hotter. But probably not by much.

Evolution is not a fact - that's why it's called the THEORY of evolution. And the word "alien" means "something that is not native" - since people are native to this planet, we can't be aliens.

However, it does appear that we are still evolving - but instead of adapting to our environment, we now have the capacity to (somewhat) adapt out environment to our wants and needs. These days, we seem to be undergoing social evolution - the idea that characteristics that are desirable in a spouse are more likely to be passed on (basically, good-looking people are more likely to have kids.) This is believed to be why each successive generation had a taller average height. Blonde hair is common, whereas it was once rare. Naturally large breasted women are more common as well. These are all characteristics that we don't need to survive as a species (some may actually be detrimental to survival), but they are also things that the majority of society has decided that it wants in a mate.

attractive in spite of the indisputable fact that the concept is, I kinda wish you hadn't further the 'countless monkeys' venture up. There are nonetheless people who have faith that evolution works this variety. they're very fond on quoting the astronomical figures in touch in getting a internet site of Shakespeare out of a gadget like this. they had be precise if evolution did artwork this variety - if the monkeys have been taking part in the area of a mutating genome, and their typed artwork have been an organism that had to be precisely precise if it have been to stay. yet it extremely isn't the way it works, and neither is the 'twister in a scrapyard' analogy. a extra ideal analogy for the actually technique grew to become into proposed with the help of Dawkins: think of that each monkey varieties a internet site of gobbledegook, that's then exceeded on. yet in the previous the subsequent monkey gets it, an Editor - taking part in the area of organic decision - assessments it. each letter it is interior the stunning place for the Shakespeare text fabric is saved, and all of the others are erased. Then the subsequent monkey gets to do some typing, yet in basic terms interior the sparkling areas. The Editor assessments and fixes Monkey 2's artwork, and passes it on back. How long will it take for the internet site to be organic, errors-unfastened Shakespeare? no longer long, actually. under 1000 monkeys might desire to probable do the activity. The Editor sounds like slightly a deus ex machina, yet organic decision is purely as sensible and profound: each mutation must be examined with the help of residing, surviving and breeding. If it fails any of those attempt - or maybe purely gets a low score, it won't stay to tell the tale and could be 'erased' from the gadget. CD

Not quite 100%. I would say more like 99.9%. It is highly unlikely that we would be the same. One billion years ago, our ancestors were probably still single celled creatures. If the descendants of humans are still around they would probably figure out a way to manipulate the genes and there would be countless different types living on countless different worlds. So yes, I think we would be considered weird aliens.

Theory of evolution is still debated on.(eg How do new born turtles know how to migrate towards sea ie do they evolve it or they KNOW it,phenomena of transduction ie direct tranfer of genetic material from one organism to other etc).
As humans beings have almost nullified effects of external factors(eg weather changes, diseases, nutrition requirment) evolution would occur towards adapting lifestyle changes eg we would produce less cholesterol after consuming fast food, our mental capacity would be enhanced in specific fields, lactose intolerance would decrease as more persons would be exposed and selected against milk products.
So evolution does not mean something fantastic should happen, it means simply that we may get adapted to situations we are facing today.

Hate to break this to ya, but humans will be extinct by then. Maybe even Earth will be a cold dead rock. Nostradamus recorded future history up to around 3770 A.D., give or take a few centuries. After that, it's anybodies guess.
And no. Evolution was only a theory, as is Adam & Eve.
You see,...... we are feral to this planet.

No way to predict this.

Why?

Because Darwinian evolution is affected by two things that cannot be known ahead of time:
1. what mutations may occur; and
2. what future environments will be.

Evolution by natural selection can tell us about the past and something about the present, but all else would have to be conjecture.

PS secretsause has hit it exactly, again.
