Unicorns are like any other mythological creature. If you have a desire to ever see one a level of belief needs to be there even if it's not a conscious belief. You can see pictures all you want but if there isn't a level of belief they will never visit you in your dreams. Whether or not they care that is a question I don't think anyone is qualified to answer. They are probably indifferent to you until you make yourself known to them.
