Hi there! You've gotten some good advice so far. I just wanted to add a few things.

They do bite, but all gliders are different. I have a very tame male and female, they were raised by very responsible breeders and they are just sweet - my male went through a toddler nippy phase, but he's since grown out of it. I also had a few females caged together that were rescues - they were biters, but only when they thought I had a treat. They were doing very well in learning not to. The bites DO hurt and can draw blood, but as said before, if you take the bite they slowly learn not to.

These guys go to the bathroom wherever - usually not in their pouch where they sleep, but for example: I have a tent I use for a glider safe play area. They glide around and jump all over me, and also go to the bathroom all over me. My girls not so bad, but my male has a huge bladder... A diaper isn't an option, they could easily ingest the material, and it probably wouldn't stay on anyways.

I highly recommend buying from a breeder - many can ship to you, but from my experience it is best if you can go to the breeders facilities and see their environment and hold the baby before you commit to buying.

Again, these are high maintenance pets that require a lot of attention, a special diet that can be expensive but manditory, a large living space, and much more. They are very rewarding pets, but you get what you put into them :)

they do nip, not all the time and you teach them not to by actually taking the bite. if you pull away they will learn that this is what bothers you, if you ignore it they'll stop. they dont bite hard and they dont do it viciously just 1 nip.

they poop in their cage, they need a big bird cage i think its at least 3 ft high 2 feet wide and 3ft long. their poop is smaller than your pinky nail.

NO you can not put a diaper on them, they are small and poop small so this shouldn't be an issue

it depends on the state you live in, this site will tell you if their legal where you live http://www.sugargliders.org/modules.php?name=News&file=categories&op=newindex&catid=17

check this website for breeders in your state http://www.glidercentral.net/links/pages/Breeder_Database/United_States/index.html

please make sure you do alot of reasearch before you get one, their not like taking care of a cat or a dog. they are exotic and have pretty specific lifestyles :)
