"What's wrong with using 1234 as a PIN number?"
I asked this question earlier and got some great answers, but I need more....I know someone who uses 1234 as a PIN and I want to show them your answers to hopefully convince them they shouldn't use it. Please help.
Thanks

If I was a crook, and I had your credit card and I needed to figure out what numbers to use as pin, I would try some of the following: 1234, 9876, 1973, 8520, 3791 these are codes that either are straightup, straight down, all four corners, first four, last four, get it ---a pattern. If I had other info on you I would also try first four or last four of zip, house number, your b'day - Good luck -k-

I don't know what great answers you have tried in the past, but 1234 is a universal PIN code for a number of things, such as ADT home security, banking, etc. Lazy people will just not bother changing the code, in part because 1234 is so easy to remember. Thieves know this fact and will try that number above all others. Using last four of your Social Security number is not too smart either. Last four of your telephone number is another thief attempt at stealing your money.

PIN is Postal Index Number. Indicating from Internation City to village. Last 3 digits indicate, street, village and taluk and other 3 indicate district, state and country. In order to deliver letters or any speed post to the correct addrrss, this PIN facility was introduced all over countries in the world. Even Courier services do service with the help of PIN only. Please note down and take the utility of these services and not as your like using 1234 as you wish.

Go ahead and use 1234. I would also suggest that you keep your house key under the door mat. Keep your car keys up on the visor. Write all your passwords down and leave them on a sticky note in your desk drawer. Get one of those "money belts" for when you visit the big city......oh and be sure to push the elevator button as hard as you can. It makes the elevator come sooner.

If they drop it and someone picks it up and decides to try random numbers, 1234 might be one of the first ones they try. Also tell them not to use their birth year. If their wallet is stolen with their card in it, the thief will probably try the birthday from their ID.

if your parents are american they can file for a pin, otherwise you have to send a letter with a signature of one of them, the first answerer said pretty much evertything

The main reason is that people would be likely to try that number if they stole the card.
