I've had lots of female co-workers and others tell me very personal details, often about sex with their men, thinking that somehow I'm all knowing ny being gay. Anyone else find this?

yes, i do it and i know friends who do it too. i have never known it bothered my friends. they seem to listen and suggest things. they are and like to be treated like one of the girls. they tell us things too, about their personal experiences. i never pry, they offer it up. its a 2 way street with us. they've never complained and i don't complain when they do it. plus, they give us more than our lady friends do. they know what a man wants and likes and can disccuss it all over shoe shopping.

I know this is not an answer but you are a man. Women love men and they really like gay guys because to them you are kinda both sides of the coin. We figure you can see the woman's side and the mans side. This shouldn't bother you. I am always telling my gay friends things that I would normally tell women. We just really push it when we find a man, ANY MAN that has a clue as to what we are talking about.

I feel you on that. I talk to my gay male friends alot and also my lesbian friends a lot also about some personal things. Im bi-sexual so I have problems with both sexes LoL But its not a bad thing, I usually talk to the person because they are a good listener and they give good advice...a good thing.

Because if they tell it to a straight guy, the guy might think that they are hitting on him or they want to be hit on. Gay guys are no threat when it comes to weird stuff like that, it's like telling it to a girl; you're not going to try to touch her if she tells you something personal.

i think so

i think it's because gay men are non threatening to straight women. its that preconceived notion of "a guy only wants sex and will take advantage of me"

once they realize you don't want sex... you are safe to tell all.

kind of stupid though huh?

yes, they see you as not part of the "man" team anymore and they expect you being gay to be interested because you have a man too.

Yes you got that one right! You just became their "girlfriend". And the better listener you are the more they will lay on you....
