an engine flush is usually only done to remove sludge etc if engine is used mostly for short drives and or oil was not changed on a regular basis. flushing will remove all the deposits and loosen up the engine. Depending on ambient temp. and miles on engine you may want to go to a heavier oil, like 10-30 or 20-40 wt. to quiet your engine.

An engine flush should be preformed once a year, regardless of the year, make and modle. Sludge will build up on any interior surface. Constant maintance will help prevent sludge, ie. oil changes, but it won't stop it entirely, and eventually, the sludge will build up bad enough for it to gum up gallies. It won't harm the vehilce if its been maintained, even if the vehilce hasn't been maintained, you're not doing any harm.
By flushing your engine yearly, you are removing what little sludge has built up, and your preventing sludge from adhearing to the interior of the eingine. Its called preventative maintance. You're solving a problem that doesn't exist, to keep it from happening.
I've seen vehicles even newer then 2003 sieze engines because of gummed up oil gallies, pick up screens, and other parts. The vehicle wasn't well maintained and the galley clogged and oil ended up not going to the head, and siezed the upper half of the engine, which in turn, distroyed the lower half.
If the engine seems to be leaking afterwords, its because the sludge was adhearing to the area where the seals/gaskets were. The seals/gaskets were leaking beforehand, but the sludge acted as a stop leak, and plugged up the leak. This is normal to see. It may not seem good, but its better to be able to see an oil leak and know its there, then to not see it and not know about it.

unless your car has been used for local driving and short trips that don't allow the engine to warm properly, there should be no need to flush it . it has been my experience that engines that might benefit from a flush to remove unwanted sludge and deposits inside usually do make more noise than before the flush. its simple, you removed all the crud that was keeping it quieted down. i have also had problems with leaks from seals after a flush for the same reasons. flushing will remove the deposits built up near the seals that have kept them from leaking and allow the oil to flow across them more freely. i have seen a few cases where the oil pump screen was nearly clogged and starving the engine that might have benefitted from a flush had it been done way before the starvation problem was evident. after the damage is done, a flush won't help. my overall opinion of a flush job is that they usually aren't needed to start with and the problems they cause outweigh the benefits you might hope for.

Probabley doesn't need flushed. If engine is getting noisey I would try some lucas engine oil treatment from your local autoparts store. That stuff works well to quiet a noisey engine

It probably won't do anything. I can't imagine an '03 car being so gunked up that it would make any difference. The running louder is probably more linked to exhaust than anything.

If you take care of it, it shouldn't be necessary.
