Got news for you buddy, there is no such thing as the Semitic civilization.

Joseph Smith (founder of Mormonism) was a well known con-man and multi-convicted felon. He started the church to aid his cash flow problems. Those giant golden tablets he claimed that he "ran through the woods carrying" so he could keep them safe from a demon, where never found either. Oh, and let's not forget how "they where written in a language that only Joseph Smith could read, and that's why he had to translate them". That's also why he never showed them to anyone else, because they wouldn't be able to read them anyway (mighty convenient).

Another interesting note: he taught his followers that they where the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation (meaning that they where special and exclusive giving the church more appeal). However, when the number of followers reached numbers over 144,000 they began teaching that the number was figurative and not truely relevant.

Oh and also remember his multiple convictions for grave-robbing, and necromancy (attempting to raise the dead via a Satanic ritual).

There are plenty of other holes in his story, feel free to research him yourself.

The world of knowledge was much smaller in Joe Smith's day and easier to get away with presenting fantasy and calling it history. Why don't Mormon historians insist that the Book of Mormon be presented as factual history in all American schools. It is not fact it is fiction. Pray about that and if you are sincere God will let you know the truth. Just kidding. That is how uneducated lemmings come to believe the Mormon church is true. If the truth were known I would bet not 5% of all Mormons have ever finished reading the book of Mormon. I found it to be the most repetitive boring and poorly written book I have ever read. Of the 5% that have read it not 5% of them know that none of the most sacred of Mormon practices and doctrine are ever mentioned in it. Eternal marriage, temple marriage, baptism for the dead. Becoming Gods. Sealings to keep one loved one to another. There are plenty of stories about one group slaughtering another and in one case the defeated army's women and children were forced to feed on the flesh of their fallen brothers and fathers and husbands. But are the good things you would think God would want you to know in there? No not there. So much for the fullness of the gospel.

My understanding of it is that there is, pretty much all the native tribes from Nova Scotia to New York would have qualified.

I actually invited the Mormons in one time to talk to them and ask a similar question.

That is how the answered it.

Also, they didn't tell me of him running through the woods, I was told that they were presented by an Angel and then taken back to heaven until more people were ready for it.

That's how they told it.

But I've also heard from other sources that the upper eschelons of Mormons swear allegiance to Satan....

Who knows.

You said it all, the book of Mormons. They are a sect not a religion, and they even said the most crazy things that I ever heard. From their founder who predicted the end of the world to today.

There is, in the Old World at least. There were Semitic civilizations all over the place and in all eras.
