Last night I went up to some parents who were letting their kids run wild in a restaurant, really bad, and told them......."Looks like someone needs their *** whupped". they said "I don't whip my children" to which i replied, it wasn't the kids I was referring to, it was the parents. Everyone in there clapped.

My step daughter complains about our 4 year old grand daughter acting up no matter where she goes. We, on the other hand have absolutely no problem at all when we take the little one out. Mom has no control and the child walks all over her. She respects us more than her mother. That is the bottom line, parents need to take responsibility for their kids' actions. It seems like it is easier for them to let them run around than try to control them in public.
Look at the instance a few months ago where the airline booted the family off the plane cuz the daughter would not sit in the safety seat. They tried for 20 mins and had to go , they had a schedule to keep, so they booted em. I wish restaurants would do this too. I go out to get away from cooking , grand kids and to relax. I don't appreciate spending 40 bucks for a dinner with some brat jumping around in the booth behind me. I was not a Hitler with my kids, but they showed respect in public.

I've actually just watched this topic on 20/20 a few minutes ago. And the answer is yes, some kids are just so annoying and egocentric. Of course, I don't blame them; they are kids and thats exacty what kids do so that is just inevitable. I'm pretty sure most people have acted as "unruly children" themselves and thats including me.

Yes, someone else's kids have ruined plenty of anniversary dinners. I think the worst is on airplanes. Kids under the age of 4 shouldn't be allowed to fly or should be in cages in the cargo place. If your city still allows smoking, just sit in the smoking section. Most kids aren't there (oh how horrible for the little darlings to smell smoke!) so it is usually quiet. The worst is the parents that don't take the kid out or make it behave. They just ignore the kid or pretend the kid is being creative. OMG it is horrible. That is why we don't go out to eat much anymore.

I think that some parents lack judgement, and some patrons lack patience. We have to know when it is appropriate to take our children somewhere, if they will be tired, and what their behaviour is and if it is fitting. If you are at a child's movie and a child is screaming...well heck you knew you were going to find kids there! If you are at mcdonalds or a family restaurant...yes you will prob. find kids there and yes...kids can scream. If you are out for a night of fine dining...heck I sure hope the kids are at home!

I Know!!!!!!!!! It is awful!!!!! I have children and yes, love them but....It is completely RUDE to hear a screaming child while trying to enjoy a show or eat dinner. I would never bring my kids if I could not control the behavior....always leave them with a sitter.

Yes I have. They were mine. No I'm just kidding you. I have seen the time when I would have helped them. The kid just wanted a cracker for pete's sake. Give it to him so he would stop screaming at the top of him lungs. You know what I mean. I felt sorry for the kid.

Try calling the manager and see what he can do. The parents get embarrassed by the attention then!! They either stop the kids or they leave.

Yes. In my opinion, there are some places that should be off limits for children, and even adults, who can't practice proper behavoir and etiquette.
