They couldn't even spank us when I was is school and that was a long time ago. We got a ruler across the hands now and then and maybe an eraser thrown at us. Now they just call the cops if someone is being unruly.

"Paddling" is actually called corporal punishment and yes, it is used in many states in the USA. There are a ton of rules about when, how and were you can use it but it is still used.

I live in a smalltown in Kentucky and in my daughters Elementary school they have you fill out a form at the beginning of the school year for if you want them to paddle your child if needed.I think its crazy they tell parents not to or you can be in trouble for it,but they will allow the school principal to if you choose.

Yup. Got Beat half to death at one in oklahoma. They think it is a good way to teach kids not to misbehave, as thought those kids will think this will happen in the real world.
Although Oklahoma still has that 'retaliation' culture.
