If your doctor has cleared you of any medical problems causing your tummy bigness concerns; then rejoice sister, there is a way out of this. Enjoy your baby, Relax & heal and after your recovery check with your doc & get the ok to exercise.

It will take time and exercise, of course, but your stomach will return to normal with the right work outs or exercises that target your abs. My c-section incision which at the time was ALL the way across my stomach, shrunk to a tiny scar.

Don't be surprised, though, when doing ab exercises, you will be a bit more tender in that area. All in all, my stomach was back to normal in about 11 months- but again, it probably took longer for me, because I had a really big singleton via c-section only a year & one half after a twin pregnancy. Just be patient with your body, find some good ab workout videos to exercise with and you will be rewarded! Good luck!!

I have had 2 C- Sections and I had the Dr. perscribe a waist thing, they gave it to me to keep my lower abdominal in place so it didn't hurt when I would move such as driving over bumps, walking, sitting down. I would call it an abdominal brace it measures from my hips to just under my breasts it is a one size fits all but you wrap it around you then connect the velcro together the velcro will go all the way up and down I use it still when I exercise. I also breast fed because this will help shrink your uterus.

There may be a problem with the air being trapped inside you so you should get it checked out. If everything is OK and you have healed well then ask what gentle excercises you can do to start getting your tummy back to normal.

I imagine the gas you would have experienced from a C section is long gone but your stomach mucles are very weak and unable to hold in your tummy. Give it time and start doing light tummy excersizes to heal and retone those muscles.

Check with your OBGYN to make sure there is nothing to be concerned about, like scar tissue, etc...Your muscles may still be stretched out and just have not gone back into their previous shape. The abdominal muscles are separated during a c-section, and some doctors will sew the muscles back up, and some doctors do not. For those whose doctor does not sew, it can take longer for those abdominal muscles to get back to "normal". But again, please check with your doctor.
